Hair Extension Makeovers

Hair Extension Artistry by Debbie Bonich and Vikki Parman
Gabrielle’s Makeover: Gabrielle already had shoulder length hair, yet she wanted something fun and longer that was more temporary than the usual fusion bond hair extensions. Di Biase platform artist Debbie Bonich, used adhesive Sticker Hair with a variety of fantasy hair color shades to create a dramatic new multi-dimensional look. The Sticker Hair was brick-laid using a different hair color shade per layer. This look was created to add complicated hair color without damaging the model’s own hair.

Keely’s Makeover: Keely had short fragile hair, so she wanted longer, fuller and more glamorous hair. Vikki Parman applied Keely’s hair extensions using half-sized Fusion Bonds in three different hair color shades. The new highlights were applied on the bottom while hair extensions matching her natural hair color, were applied on the top of her head. This gave her length with new volume and body. With the use of half-sized bonds that were pressed flat, Parman was able to reduce stress on Keely’s fragile hair.

Stephanie’s Makeover: Stephanie started with very short hair. She did not want length. Instead, she wanted some fun new hair color added to her hair. Since her hair is platinum blonde, she didn’t want any chemical hair color service applied to her hair. Hair extensions provide the perfect option for her career and lifestyle. Vikki Parman went for a high contrast look and added black to her bangs. Since Parman was working above the occipital bone, she used very small quarter-sized micro-bonds similar to what would be used for reconstructive hair extension work. This technique is a very different way to use hair extensions and it was the best way to add new hair color without damaging Stephanie’s hair.

Andrew’s Makeover: Andrew wanted stylish new highlights, yet he didn’t want to commit to permanent hair color or any chemical service. Vikki Parman applied his highlights using quarter-sized micro-bonds to have smaller streaks in the hair while applying his hair extensions above the occipital bone. This technique is great for salon clients who want highlights, but want to be able to take them out when they desire. This is also good for blending hair extension hair color with natural hair above the occipital bone.
