Tape In hair extensions are one of the latest techniques available. They are small strips of hair with adhesive tape on one side. It is also called sticker hair by some hair companies. In general they are applied using two strips that are taped to each other with your own hair "sandwiched" in between (double sided tape). There are also methods that use one strip that is attached to your hair close to the scalp (single sided tape).
Tape Ins have quickly grown in popularity for several reasons. Of all permanent techniques it is the method with the fastest application time. An experienced stylist can do an application within an hour. There are no heat or tools needed for application. With Tape Ins the weight of the extension is spread over a larger area of your own hair causing less stress. It can be used with fine thin hair. This makes it one of the safest hair extension methods.
Tape extensions last in general 6 to 8 weeks. In many cases the hair is reusable. You have to be careful with some hair and skin products because it can weaken the bonds and the hair extension can slip out.
